(a) Cake Decorators Association of Victoria (ABN 78 310 539 320) and its branches (collectively referred to as “we” and “us”) are committed to managing personal Act 1988 (Cth) (from here on referred to as ‘The Act”) and in accordance with other applicable privacy laws.

(a)Cake Decorators Association of Victoria Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to foster and improve the art of cake decorating and sugar craft by providing the opportunity for an interchange of ideas and skills.

(b)Cake Decorators Association of Victoria Inc. offers a range of services including cake decorating workshops and demonstrations. (a) (Refer to ‘The Act’ for APP) Australian Privacy Principle 12 permits you to obtain access to the personal information we hold about you in certain circumstances and Australian Privacy Principle 13 allows you to correct inaccurate personal information subject to certain exceptions.  You are entitled to access your personal information held by Cake Decorators Association of Victoria Inc. on request.  To request access to your personal information please contact our privacy officer using the contact details set out below.

(b) You will not be charged for making a request to access your personal information, but you may be charged for the reasonable time and expense incurred in compiling information in response to your request.

Eg There may be a legal need to keep particular information held about you for a certain period and we may not be able to amend or delete this information during this period.

11. Overseas activity involving your personal details.

 

Your personal information will not be disclosed to recipients outside Australia unless you expressly request us to do so in accordance with the Australian law, however our website is supplied by Wix which is an American website building company, and Stripe which is our payment portal service and we may from time to time require support or maintenance from them where your personal information may be exposed during the normal course of their duties.

12. What should you do if you have a complaint about the handling of your personal information?

 

(a) You may contact Cake Decorators Association of Victoria Inc. at any time if you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or about the way in which your personal information has been handled.

(d) If your complaint requires more detailed consideration or investigation, we will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within a week and endeavour to complete our investigation into your complaint promptly.  We may ask you to provide further information about your complaint and the outcome you are seeking.  We will then typically gather relevant facts, locate and review relevant documents and speak with individuals involved. 

(e) In most cases, we will investigate and respond to a complaint within 30 days of receipt of the complaint.  If the matter is more complex or our investigation may take longer, we will let you now.

(f) If you are not satisfied with our response to your complaint, or you consider the Cake Decorators Association of Victoria Inc. may have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or the Privacy Act, a complaint may be made to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.  The office of the Australian Information Commissioner can be contacted by telephone on 1300 363 992 or by using the contact details on the website (www.oaic.gov.au)
